BlackBerry to beef up Galaxy security

BlackBerry and Samsung have announced a partnership, which will see the Canadian firm boosting Samsung's security features.

BlackBerry announced the plans at a business-focused event last night.

Essentially, BlackBerry will be working on improving Samsung's Knox security service, offering end-to-end encryption with the assistance of its newly announced BlackBerry Enterprise Service 12 platform.

BlackBerry will thus be improving a rival's security - a fact that was not lost on CEO John Chen, CNET reported.

Chen reportedly joked that he wasn't sure whether to wish Samsung well for the future.

It wasn't the only news to come from the event, with BlackBerry confirming that its Classic smartphone would be launching in the USA from December 12.

The Classic resembles the legacy Curve devices, featuring a QWERTY keypad and a smaller screen.
However, the Classic is still equipped with BlackBerry 10.
